Promises, promises!

Okay, so it has been over a week since I promised to post pictures. Sorry! No wonder no one comments on here anymore - I am sure you've all given up on me! It has been so long since I've written a real post, I don't even know where to start with the updates. I guess I will just cover as much as I can remember for now. Since I last posted we blessed Hadley in church - on Feb. 21st. The best part about this was that my Sister, Niece, Dad, and Grandma were all able to fly in from Ohio and stay with us for a couple of days for the blessing. It was wonderful to have them...the only problem was that they didn't stay long enough!!! Next time, I hope!

Also in February (I'm not going in order, because this was Feb 3rd...) Ben turned 7. I can NOT believe that my baby boy is 7 years old. He is getting so grown up. He's turning into quite the little missionary, too. Our next door neighbors are not members of our church, which, in Utah, is a bit of a rarity. One Sunday Ben said "Mom, I've been thinking... we should invite Chris and Melissa to church." I was a little suprised to hear that come out of his mouth. I explained to him that Hyrum had invited them to come to a few activities and so far they hadn't been interested. He then added "Well, we could at least have them to dinner to talk about it." I had forgotten all about this incident when last night I invited them over to join us for some hamburgers and chicken on the grill. I was in the other room taking care of the baby and I overheard Ben say, "My mom and I have been wanting to ask you to come to church with us sometime." I have to admit that I cringed. My first reaction was to go out and apologize for my son's forwardness. I didn't want our neighbors to think that we spend our time sitting around thinking of ways to dunk them into baptismal waters. Gratefully, I caught myself. The neighbor politely explained to Ben that he was very busy and his Sundays were usually kept very full with catching up on his homework. But I was really impressed that my little 7 year old has a desire to share the gospel. It would be easy to think that he invited our neighbor to church only because he was told in Primary that it was the right thing to do. However, tonight in Family Home Evening, as we talked in depth about the real meaning of Easter, he stopped me early into the lesson and, with misty eyes, told me "Mom, I can already feel Jesus in my heart and in this room." He has gotten up in testimony meeting and told the congregation "I know that Jesus loves you like your Mom and Dad do." It is so awesome to me to hear him express real feelings about the gospel in his own words. This little guy feels the Spirit, and he has his own REAL testimony. Let's hope I don't screw up his life too badly.
Anyway, I hadn't planned on going into so much depth about Ben....This post is to catch you up quickly on stuff... so on we go.

At the end of February Hyrum and I got to celebrate our anniversary (it was a little late, but oh well.) He (and Hadley) and I had an awesome night away at a little Bed and Breakfast in Provo. No, we didn't go far, but it was just nice to have some time to ourselves. 8 years and still kickin' =o) Every year I am amazed at how our love for one another grows and matures. We are both so different than we were when we got married, but I am even more in love with him now than I was back then, and I feel more love appreciation from him every day.

We came back from our little getaway on Feb 27th, and on March 1st at about 4:30 am we got a brand new baby nephew. Hyrum's sister, Heidi, gave birth to a sweet little boy named Maccord (I am guessing on the spelling). Unfortunately, the little fella had aspirated meconium (nope, can't spell that, either) and he is still in the NICU today. He is doing really well, it is just a long, slow recovery process. We all have our fingers crossed that he will be able to come home this weekend, just in time for Easter.

There are lots of other little things that I have wanted to blog about over the last couple of months, but I have forgotten most of them, and my fingers are getting tired of typing. I am going to post this in a second, and then I will add another post with pictures...and maybe one more with a video, if my computer will cooperate!!!!

Hope you are all well! Hope my tired brain made sense in this post! Hope I get at least one comment from any of you =o) Take care, and Happy Easter!!!!
