So, as I mentioned a few posts back, I had an ultrasound awhile ago to check on some crazy bleeding. That ultrasound showed that I had plecenta previa (my placenta was sitting over my cervix), and that there was something extra in the lower region of my baby's body- which led my Dr. to say (at 13 weeks) that he was 90% sure that I was having a boy.
Today I had another ultrasound to check on how things were going, and to take all of the normal 20 week ultrasound measurements. This one indicated #1, that my baby is growing well, and is healthy, #2 that the placenta moved (YAY!!! I can be normal again!!), and #3 that the extra something was most likely swollen-ness...cause now Doc is 95% sure that I'm having a girl!! LOL. I suppose I will go with the 95% sure at almost 20 weeks over the 90% sure at almost 14 weeks.
So it looks like we will be a little more even here in the Shell household. Earlier in the pregnancy I was hoping boy because Hannah is about all the girl that I can handle...however..over the last few weeks I have been sort of hoping that the boy diagnosis was incorrect. The other night my boys had a sleepover on their bedroom floor. Hannah, in turn, had to follow her brothers' lead and sleep on her own floor. It was kind of sad seeing her have a "sleepover" all by herself. That was one of the first times it was apparent to me how lonely it would be for her to be an only girl with 3 brothers. Plus, maybe with another girl in the house, she can share the amount of estrogen, and not feel the need to bear it all on her own shoulders =o) (i.e. occasionally playing with something other than Barbies and babies, and starting to like colors other than pink).
My favorite part of the ultrasound was watching my baby getting rocked to sleep by resting her ear right against my artery =o) Everytime my heart would beat her head bobbed up and down. Sweet as it was, this will probably mean that she will want to be held 24/7. Eh, if she's as cute as the other 3, then I guess that won't be so bad.

HEEHEE!!!!! That's too funny! I bet Hyrum is excited! I don't know why any ultrasound tech would even give you a guess on gender at a 13 week ultrasound....silly. :) Anyway, congratulations! Glad everything is looking good! :) although I guess this means our kids can't be BYU roommates...
